Evaluations
Here is a bit of information about the upcoming season before try-outs start for various levels in the coming week.
Ice time will be a little scarce in the next week/week and a half while we intensify the ice times for the age levels that require rep try-outs. Please bookmark or subscribe to the Kawartha Minor Hockey schedule to find out future dates/times for your upcoming ice times:

Our numbers for each age group are currently as follows:
U7-41 players
U8-23 players
U9-30 players
These numbers don't add up well for making teams. Therefore we will be doing the following:
1) Moving six (6) players up from U8 to U9
2) Moving 3 U7 players up to U8
- This will give us 38 players at the U7 level which will be split into 4 even teams.
- The U8 level will have 2 teams with 10 players on each team
-The U9 level will then have three teams with 12 players each.
The evaluations for this process will start this coming weekend. The U8 players will be evaluated on Sept 23rd and the top six players will be offered a spot to go to the U9 evaluation skate which will take place the next day (Sun Sept 24th). The U7 age group will be evaluated (three players moving up) at their next skate the following weekend.
The evaluators for this process will be independent persons who are not associated with the teams. They will not consist of any parents nor coaches from any of the levels being evaluated to make for a fair and unbiased evaluation. If your child is offered a spot to move up an age level it will be your decision as to whether that is something you want for your child or not.
