Tournament Rules
OMHA rules apply (including ejections).
All teams must be ready to play at scheduled times. If a team is short players at the scheduled start time they will forfeit the win to the opposing team.
All games will consist of three 10 minute stop time periods.
When a spread of 5 goals is reached in the 3rd period the clock runs straight time. If the goal spread is reduced the clock will go back to stop time.
In the event of a tie in a final game, one 5 minute sudden death period will be played. If a tie still exists, a penalty shot system will be applied whereby each coach select three players who will take alternate shots on the opposing goaltender. If the score is still tied, three more alternate players will be chosen, if the score is still tied, the shoot out will continue using one player per team until the tie is broken. The team must go through the entire roster before repeating players. A player serving a penalty at the end of overtime is not eligible for the shoot out.
Point System
2 points for winning the game
1 point for a tie game
0 points for losing a game
In the event that two or more teams have an equal number of points leading into the finals the following guidelines will be used to determine which team places higher:
1. If the teams in question have played against one another in the tournament, the winner of that game
2. The team with the most goals for
3. The team with the least goals against
4. Coin flip
