Coyotes Win Their 1st Playoff Game
The Kawartha Coyotes played the first game of a best of three series against Brock Wild last night in Omemee.

The boys came out swinging and played a great 1st period but were unable to get the puck in the net! The second period was much the same, including a goal that was called back, but the fans in the packed barn went crazy when Nash McGill scored with 3:02 left in the second period. Sam Thurston and Clark Gutoskie assisted.  Period three was very exciting and nerve wracking with, yet another, called back goal!  Then Sam Thurston was awarded a penalty shot when he got taken down on a short handed break away. No surprise but Sammy scored and the barn went wild again!! Brock pulled their goalie and with 11 seconds left in the game, they scored with a deflection but the game will end 2-1!  Coyotes win the first game of this series and will play again this Saturday, March 8th at 5:00 in Beaverton!

This game was also about honoring our Senior players. There was a display in the lobby honoring the boys and their coaches and their jerseys were hung in the corner of the rink for the duration of the game. After the game, Coach Jeff announced each player as they were presented a little gift. We took pictures and wiped away tears knowing that this season is quickly drawing to an end. Thank you to everyone who came out to support the team tonight and a special thank you to all the Moms who helped put together this celebration for our Senior boys.
