On November 2nd the Peewee Coyotes played in the Brighton Minor Hockey Tournament and came away with another Champoinship for the 2013-2014 season.

Game 1 the Coyotes played the Ennismore Eagles in a hard fought opening game. While the Coyotes would control alot of the play, Ennismore was able to answer back and tie the game on three occasions. Reice Nicholson put the Coyotes up in the first period. The Eagles would tie things up shortly after. Reice would score his second of the game on a breakaway pass from Tyler Roche early in the second period, but Ennismore would again tie things up soon after. In the third period Greg Downey scored his first goal of the tournament and gave the Coyotes the lead with about 5 minutes to play. Ennismore would again tie the game at 3 with a few minutes left. With the game heading towards overtime and only 12 seconds on the clock Aidan Collins would make a Bobby Orr like rush from his own end beating all of the Ennismore players and putting a low shot through the legs of the Eagles goalie with only 0.7 of a second remaining !! Coyotes win 4-3.

Game 2 Kawartha played the Brighton Braves. The boy's knew the Braves would be fired up with the winner going to the Championship game and Brighton being the host team. Only problem though, the Coyotes were more than ready themselves. Kawartha would storm out to a 4-0 lead before the end of the first. Goals by Carder Lake, Jacob Downey and two by Reice Nicholson. Greg Downey and John Carroll would add one each in the third and Jacob Curtin was solid in goal posting his first shutout of the season. Coyotes win 6-0.

The Championship game would be a rematch of game 1 with Kawartha facing Ennismore again. The Coyotes would score first when Dawson Pauze took off on a breakaway, the Eagles goalie would make a nice save but John Carroll was there to knock in the rebound. The game would remain 1-0 untill late in the third period thanks to some great goaltending at both ends of the rink. Ennismore was able to gather a loose puck in the high slot and a nice wrist shot found the back of the net tying the game 1-1 with only 2 minutes to play. Kawartha was ready the very next shift. Greg Downey grabbed a loose puck in the Eagles end and ripped a hard wrist shot under the crossbar with just over a minute to play in regulation. The Boy's would hold off the Eagles attack over the last minute and win the final 2-1.

The boy's deserve a ton of credit for another fantastic day. This was another solid effort by the entire team. Every player is contributing in many positive ways.
